Weddings at Saint Andrew's
Aloha and welcome to the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, Honolulu, Hawaii. We are delighted you are considering celebrating your marriage with us.
Our profoundly unique Cathedral was built in 1862. It is one of the oldest Episcopal Cathedrals in America, and the only example of French Gothic architecture in Hawaii. The Cathedral was a gift to the community, given by King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma, and served the islands as they transitioned from a kingdom, to a provisional government, then a republic, followed by a territory, and finally a state. We continue to honor the legacy of the King and Queen. We are a house of prayer and a sacred space welcoming many people of many cultures.
We invite you to worship with us as a beneficial way to acquaint you with our facility. Sunday normally includes three opportunities to worship. The 7:00 am Eucharist is a quiet and reflective service The 8:00 am service is a Hawaiian Eucharist which incorporates portions of the Hawaiian language and culture. At 10:00 am, we have a Sung Eucharist using Rite II. After the 10:00 service, a tour of the Cathedral is available.
Pictures of the Cathedral Close, as well as more in depth information about us can be found at other links on our site. Elsewhere on this page, you will find links to resources I hope will be helpful to you in planning your wedding. The Wedding Customary can help to acquaint you with the customs and traditions of the Episcopal Church and the specifics of weddings at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. Applications for weddings and applications for blessings are the first steps to securing the Cathedral as the venue for your wedding. The Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage, from the Book of Common Prayer, is the service used at the Cathedral.
