The Cathedral Chapter
The Chapter governs the Cathedral congregation. It shall have charge of the temporalities and shall attend to all business matters of the Cathedral, providing and keeping in good order a house of worship and all necessary furniture and appointments and paying all Cathedral obligations and dues. The Chapter shall be the agent and legal representative of the Cathedral in all matters concerning Cathedral property and the relations of the Cathedral (Cathedral By-laws, Sec. 6.11).
The Challenge for 2011
The 2011 Chapter will face significant challenges, as the work will get harder, not easier. The 2011 Chapter will continue implement "Vision to Action" -- transforming our governance structure to effectively enable congregational ministry. As part of "Vision to Action", the Chapter will establish a "Board of Trustees" to manage every aspect of the Cathedral physical plant. The long-anticipated renovation of Davies Hall will start in 2011, and Chapter will have the role of performing oversight on the progress of construction. With Davies Hall construction initiated, Phase II of the WTOF campaign will start. Finally, the Chapter, in partnership with the Bishop, will hire a new Dean.
More information and resources regarding the 2011 election of Chapter may be found on the Cathedral's Chapter intranet site.
